Lingual Braces

When should I see an Orthodontist?

Most Orthodontists recommend children see an Orthodontist from the age of 7. However, at Berwick Orthodontics, we have patients of all ages.

How long does treatment take?

The length of treatment will depend on the complexity of your case. The average treatment range is between 12-24 months, however, some minor cases may only take 6 months of treatment.

Do I need a referral to visit an Orthodontist?

A referral is not necessary to visit Berwick Orthodontics. You are welcome to call our practice at anytime to book an initial consultation.

Do you have finance options available?

Is Orthodontics covered by private health insurance?

Some private health providers do offer rebates on Orthodontic treatment. Please contact your health insurance provider to find out if you have coverage. If you do not have private health insurance, you are welcome to contact our team for information on what providers do offer rebates for Orthodontics.

Do I still need to visit a dentist during treatment?

Yes, you should continue visiting your dentist during Orthodontic treatment, as normal to ensure your teeth and gums remain healthy throughout treatment.

How often will I need to visit your practice during treatment?

The frequency of visits does vary depending on your treatment type, and the complexity of your case. But on average, we see our patients every 8-12 weeks for routine checkups. We also offer the option of virtual monitoring, which may be suitable for people who are travelling, or who live away from the practice.

Will braces or clear aligners impact my current lifestyle?

Braces and clear aligners won’t impact your day-to-day life for activities like sports, or music. However, it is important to remember to take additional care during these activities when undergoing orthodontic treatment.
