For us, a smile is more than just a physical feature. It makes you who you are. We love creating amazing smiles for patients of all ages.

Lingual braces are great for people who want to straighten their teeth quickly, and almost invisibly. Lingual braces work just like traditional braces but they are placed on the back of your teeth to make the same changes. Suitable for people of all ages, lingual braces tend to be more popular when clear aligners won’t be the best way to create a beautiful smile.
When it comes to orthodontics for your child, it’s good to get an opinion around the age of 7 to 9. Even just bringing them in for an initial check-up helps with getting used to an orthodontist and gives us the chance to see how their bite and teeth are developing.
Starting small with early orthodontic treatment can stop problems becoming bigger as your child grows.
Clear aligners are a very popular treatment for adult patients, teenagers and children alike. They can be just as effective for complex cases or mild alignment issues. As long as they’re worn correctly, clear aligners straighten teeth in a seamless way.
Traditional or ceramic braces provide excellent results for patients of all ages. They are great for more complex alignment cases and equally effective for minor issues. Being worn 24/7 they’re constantly shifting teeth into place, creating a beaming smile. Although some worry braces are too visible, lots of people embrace the change, choosing colourful bands and changing them to suit their style.
Most Orthodontists recommend children see an Orthodontist from the age of 7. However, at Berwick Orthodontics, we have patients of all ages.
The length of treatment will depend on the complexity of your case. The average treatment range is between 12-24 months, however, some minor cases may only take 6 months of treatment.

Yes, you should continue visiting your dentist during Orthodontic treatment, as normal to ensure your teeth and gums remain healthy throughout treatment.
The frequency of visits does vary depending on your treatment type, and the complexity of your case. But on average, we see our patients every 8-12 weeks for routine checkups. We also offer the option of virtual monitoring, which may be suitable for people who are travelling, or who live away from the practice.
Braces and clear aligners won’t impact your day-to-day life for activities like sports, or music. However, it is important to remember to take additional care during these activities when undergoing orthodontic treatment.
